Bindery & Production Specialist

Part-time to Full-time

 

The Bindery Production Specialist plays a key role in bringing client projects across the finish line. This position focuses on bindery and finishing work, while also supporting broader production needs. You’ll work closely with the Production Manager to carry out job orders accurately, efficiently, and with a strong attention to detail.

We love experience but we’re also open to training someone who is mechanically inclined, hands-on, and takes pride in tangible work.

 

What You’ll Do

Bindery, Finishing and Production Support

· Measure, print, mount, cut, collate, insert, score, fold, staple, coil bind, drill, and package finished products

· Set up, operate, tend, and maintain bindery equipment

· Inspect equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems

· Perform both machine and manual operations to complete bindery and finishing processes

· Review job tickets to identify special instructions, bindery functions, stock specifications, sizes, and quantities

· Ensure dated samples are placed in each job folder

· Send completed jobs to quality check

· Assist with deliveries as needed

· Support digital production as trained over time, including:

            o Large-format printing

            o Digital presses

Stock & Workspace Management

· Keep production areas stocked and alert the Production Manager when supplies need to be reordered

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

· Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment and tools

· Enjoyment of hands-on, physical, and sometimes repetitive work

· Strong attention to detail and quality

· Ability to stand for long periods and lift 40–75 pounds, including boxes of paper and materials (sometimes up and down stairs)

· Good organizational skills and follow-through

· Ability to read and understand job tickets and instructions

· Ability to problem-solve both independently and as part of a team

· Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· A hearty sense of humor and a team-first attitude (doesn't mind a well placed F-bomb)

 

**Printing or bindery experience is a plus but not required. If you’re mechanically and tangibly inclined, we can train you.
